Alcatraz
Because of the Massacre, the public was angered and scared. President Herbert Hoover ordered the government to put Capone in Jail. They knew exactly how to trap him; he was not paying his taxes. So, they questioned where he acquired so much money. This is how they trapped him. He would either admit he was selling illegal liquor to get the money, or that he was not paying his taxes. Of course, he picked the taxes, and was sent to a federal prison in Atlanta for two years. But, he was caught trying to bribe the guards, and was sent to Alcatraz, America's most protected Jail.
Death
When Capone was younger, he was diagnosed with syphilis, and left it untreated. As he grew older, it became Neurosyphilis, causing dementia. He left Alcatraz to go to a mental hospital in Balitimore, where he remained for three years. In 1942, he spent the remaining years of his life at his home in Miami, with his wife. He died on January 25, 1947 of a heart attack.
